I imagine a dark and damp, crowded, smoky bar. On the stage are a pianist, a saxophonist and a drummer, sharply dressed in suits despite the sweat streaming down their faces.

In the air, a pulsating rhythm hangs out like a bead of water along the side of my Scotch on the rocks. It’s ready to drop. Any second now, the boppin’ beat’s gonna fall through and I’ll lose myself in the night.
